This is a full week devoted to looking at global missions. This week long event is typically referred to as Missions Convention. We wanted to make it a part of The Heart of a Missional Church as it is just a continuation of the series as we look at a heart for the rest of the world to have the opportunity to know Jesus. We aren't all able to serve overseas, but we can support full-time missionaries who serve people in countries all over the world. We are called not only to our local community but also to the global community. In addition to the Sunday services and Dessert Night there will be booths in the church hallway. Below is information about the week of The Global Heart of a Missional Church.

Joey & Carla Ellis, India
Joey and Carla were on National Children’s Ministries staff when God began speaking to them about becoming missionaries to the children of South Asia. They have just completed their first term, and their goal has been to develop national leaders who will passionately pursue children. Their strategy has been to develop effective outreach events, equip local churches to reach and disciple children, mentor leaders, and prepare rescuers to save unwanted children. There are more than 500 million children on the Indian subcontinent, and they are the future. |

Kent & Leslie Linneweh, Netherlands
www.masterscommission.nl
After years as a rock musician, Kent gave his life to Jesus. He became a youth pastor, took youth on short-term missions trips and began to raise up youth worship bands. The presence and power of God in these worship meetings led Kent to the concept of Worship Evangelism. In a Post Modern age where people aren’t necessarily against God but just haven’t sensed a strong witness of His presence, this can be a powerful witness of the “real-ness” of God. Kent is launching Master’s Commission Netherlands in 2008 and believes the Holy Spirit will use it to be a powerful place of worship training and intercession where students can develop their own worship gifts to be influencers through Worship Evangelism. |

Rebecca Grant, Project Rescue
www.projectrescue.com
Blog: www.rescuearts.com
Rebecca grew up as a missionary's kid in India and Brussels, Belgium. In 2003 she earned a degree in Drama-Speech Education from Evangel University and a Master of Arts in Theatre at Missouri State University, in Springfield, Missouri. In 2006, Rebecca found a way to incorporate her love for Jesus and the arts. She began working with Project Rescue, a ministry to girl victims of sex trafficking. Dependent upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Rebecca uses her training in performance, dance and creative writing to bring healing to young women and girls in India who have been rescued out of forced prostitution. Rebecca is thrilled that she is able to combine her faith with her passion for the arts and survivors of trafficking. There is nothing in the world she would rather do. |
